Voice acting is terrific, Charlie Adler shows why he is one of the most prolific voice actors in the business and Ed Gilbert is a spirited Baloo. Rebecca is charming and suitably shrewd and ambitious without it going overboard that it grates. Kit is neither too cute or too bratty, an appealing kid rather than an annoying one and his chemistry with Baloo has heart. Baloo is a very fun and likeable character as always. The story is hugely compelling and lively in pace without being rushed, and executes a nice idea imaginatively. Things don't get too childish and it is all easy to follow. Writing is witty, very funny without being too silly and thought-probing without being complicated.
The music matches what is going on perfectly and it is impossible to forget or resist the theme song, one of the catchiest for anything Disney and ever. In the book, Baloo was a humorless, serious, and strict aging sloth bear who utilized militant. In the original book by Rudyard Kipling, Baloo was very different from his Disney incarnation. He is a fun-loving, easygoing, and good-natured sloth bear who becomes the best friend of a 'man-cub' named Mowgli. The animation is very colourful and atmospheric as always. Baloo is the deuteragonist of Disney's 1967 animated feature film, The Jungle Book. "Bearly Alive" is a very good and fun episode if not a favourite, just lacking the extra thrills and adventure of the best episodes and there are more interesting supporting characters in other episodes. Something that, as expected and hoped, has proven to be a more than worthwhile project and experience. Have been on a roll reviewing individual episodes for certain shows, animated, non-animated and of as many genres as possible (many as part of certain quests), and decided to do it with 'Talespin' and some others. One of those favourites from a young age that holds up really well, and is even more entertaining through adult eyes from appreciating the writing and stories even more.
